| Coton de TulearDeveloped in Madagascar, there are at least two accounts of how the Coton de Tuléar arrived there. One says the ancestor of the breed accompanied troops of the Indian Company settling on the island; another that these dogs swam ashore after a shipwreck.
He is now known as the Royal Dog of Madagascar. Recognized by the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) since 1971, the happy and boisterous little clown has been slowly gaining in popularity.
Eager and intellingent, he is very attached to his master and loves children. He stands 10 to 12 in., and weighs about nine to 14 lb. His cottony, fluffy coat needs weekly brushing to be kept up, and minimal shedding makes him a good choice for allergy sufferers. An indoor pet, he also makes an effective watchdog. |

| Polski Owczarek NizinnyThe Polski Owczarek Nizinny (English translation : Polish Lowland Sheepdog) is a robust little sheep dog still considered a rare breed. Ideally suited to families, PONs are trustworthy, faithful and devoted to their family, while instinctively suspicious of strangers.
They are calm, confident, sensible, and easy keeping. They do well in the city and are active dogs who need daily exercise. They are adaptable and make excellent travelling companions. They are responsive to firm, fair obedience training, but they are also clever, strong-willed and like to think for themselves and make their own decisions. |
